Opportunities for Students

ABS is currently accepting student applicants

Through the application and integration of theoretical knowledge, to treatment of community members and the chronically ill population, practicum students learn:

  • Individual Therapy with Chronic and High-functioning Outpatients
  • Group Therapy
  • Intensive Outpatient Program (Temporarily Discontinued due to COVID)
  • Family and Couples Therapy
  • Crisis Intervention and Prevention
  • DSM-V Diagnosis Classification

The ideal candidate must be clinically astute, be able to work independently, and demonstrate an ability to multi-task. Master's Degree preferred. Potential candidates should submit a Resume, Cover Letter, and two letters of recommendation

Internship/Practicum Requirements

  • Resume or CV

  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Letter of school approval to begin internship
  • Contact information of director of training
  • 20-25 hours per week
  • Participate in one hour per week of individual supervision
  • Two hours of weekly didactics, every Tuesday
  • Saturdays and Tuesdays are mandatory
  • Follow the code of conduct according to the student handbook
